Fresh off the release of Dante's Inferno and with plenty of time between now Dead Space 2's release, developer Visceral Games has other unannounced titles in the works for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network to keep them busy.

I suppose at some point this will cease to be news, but the franchises that made LAN gaming great continue to turn their back on it, providing a long slow obituary for the service. Command & Conquer is the latest.

Electronic Arts is bragging that its Battlefield: Bad Company 2 demo on PS3 and Xbox 360 has been downloaded more than 3.5 million times since its release last month. Yes, demo bragging is officially a trend now.

And the weekend parade of free stuff keeps marching on. PC gamers can now get all three original Command & Conquer games free through the official website. The freebies are a promotion for the release of Command & Conquer 4 next month.

The free games include Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun with Firestorm and Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

While religion and an allegorical journey through a medieval hell remain the central themes of the video game adaption of Dante's Inferno, an exploration of love and lust and what separates the two is nearly as important in the game.

Top-flight titles like Rock Band and Left 4 Dead are distributed by Electronic Arts but the association doesn't mean as much to the company's bottom line. The publisher will be moving away from distributing third-party titles in the coming year.

Publisher Electronic Arts is a big, big fan of downloadable content. So much so that it's committing to featuring paid DLC and online play in every single title it releases during the company's fiscal 2011.
