The Wall Street Journal reports that Sony will release a new smart phone "capable of downloading and playing PlayStation games" later this year, as well as a competitor to Apple's iPad that may also play PSone titles.

EA Mobile passes along a set of new screenshots showing off three big titles they're bringing to the iPhone in the coming months - Skate-It, Mirror's Edge, and The Sims 3 World Adventures.

We've seen plenty of MIrror's Edge for the iPhone over the past few months, and The Sims 3 World Adventures was a given, considering the strong sales of the iPhone version of The Sims 3.

Gamevil's follow-up to the beloved iPhone role-playing game Zenonia brings four new characters, ranged fighters Ekne and Morpice, and melee warriors Daza and Lu. Get to know them in their official bios.

Zenonia 2: The Lost Memory, in closed beta testing as you read this, features four characters, each falling into one of two categories, ranged and melee. The teenage paladin Lu and Warrior Daza will be at the forefront of battle, taking as good as they can get while magician Morpice and pistol-packing Ekne take up the rear.

NPD: Online Gamers Spend on Average 8 Hours a Week Online Playing [PC]

The average number of hours spent per week on online gaming is up 10 percent, to 8 hours a week, according to the results of a study released by the NPD Group today.

"While the percentage of the population that reports playing games has declined slightly, this study details other metrics which point to both stability and growth in both online and offline gaming," said Anita Frazier, industry analyst, The NPD Group.

Ubisoft stuns all sorts of civilians with Assassin's Creed II Multiplayer for the iPhone today, available as a free download for the first 48 hours of release.

First teased early last month, Assassin's Creed II Multiplayer is, as one might expect, an online multiplayer game that takes place in Assassin's Creed II's Renaissance Italy setting. Players take on the role of an assassin, trying to take down rivals while blending in with civilians to avoid detection.
